DMEG are now working effectively with NICE ( via the BDA) and our comments are being well received and considered. For example, we asked NICE to reconsider the comment in the newer agents draft guidance that suggested exanetide should be stopped if there was not 5% weight loss within 6 months. We felt this was unreasonable since exanetide is not primarily a weight reducing drug and the studies quoted suggest only a 3% weight loss is likely. As a result of ours ( and others comments ) this has been changed in the final document.
